Steel Bottle - Kids

Yes. Close the flip top and the Kids bottle is leakproof.

These bottles are not insulated so they won't keep your drinks hot or cold. These bottles are great at keeping the weight down. You don't always want to lug around twice the weight and there’s easy ways to keep your water cold - you can add a bunch of ice cubes in the wide mouth or keep your bottle in the fridge the day before you take it with you. The other reason we make single wall bottles is that they use half the resources of insulated versions! We don't recommend freezing bottles - it invalidates the warranty and it can warp the steel.

Wash the bottle by hand to protect the powder coat finish. The sports cap and straw are dishwasher safe.

Yes, the sports cap on the Kids bottle works with fizzy drinks.

Food-grade 18/8 stainless steel (the material used in all Elephant Box bottles) is non-reactive and does not leach metal into food or drink under normal conditions. A metallic taste is almost always caused by one of the following:

• New product residue. A thin layer of manufacturing oil or packaging material can remain on a brand-new item. A thorough hand-wash with warm water and washing-up liquid before first use removes this.
• Mineral-rich water. Hard tap water or certain mineral waters carry dissolved minerals that can register as a metallic taste, particularly in an uncoated steel container.
• Residue build-up. Tea, coffee, and fruit juices can leave deposits inside bottles over time. Regular cleaning with a bottle brush and, occasionally, a bicarbonate of soda rinse eliminates this.
• Carbonated drinks. The carbonic acid in fizzy drinks can react with trace surface deposits. Rinsing promptly after use prevents this.

If a metallic taste persists after cleaning, please contact us and we will investigate.

The bottle comes with a 15 year warranty, and the sports cap comes with a 1 year warranty. Read our warranty here.
