    Twist & Lock FAQs

    The Twist & Lock canisters are completely plastic-free, they are made from 304 grade steel with a removable food-grade LFGB silicone seal in the lid which gives a 100% leakproof & airtight seal.

    Absolutely. All our lunchboxes and food containers are dishwasher-safe and freezer-safe. Just make sure not to overfill the container when freezing (especially with soup) - as liquids will expand. The Twist & Lock canisters can be used in the oven (up to 200°C), though we recommend keeping the lids off.

    No, the Twist & Lock canisters cannot be used in the microwave.  If you're looking for microwave-safe options, we recommend our Prep & Store which feature microwave-safe steel bases. Additionally, our Lunch Bowls with glass bases are perfect for microwaving your lunch.

    Yes, the Twist & Lock food storage canisters nest inside each other when not in use.

    All our stainless steel products come with a 15 year warranty. Glass and silicone isn’t covered, but we sell spare silicone lids for Seal & Go Range, spare silicone bases for the Lunch Bowls and tabs for the Bowls & Prep & Store Range.

    I thought they were a lot larger than the original tins I used to use

    As one gets used to cutting plastic out of one's life one finds more & more uses for Elephant tins. I soak muesli in these and take it to work the next day. Being leakproof is imperative. I've also started making snack boxes out of them with fruit & nuts, mimicking those expensive packets of snacks that shops use to tempt us near their tills. I leave those in the kitchen to dig into if I'm prepping food and get hungry whilst cooking. I was sad the shiny tins are no longer available but these are just as good, I'm used to them now.

    Aesthetically pleasing with a nice heft to it. It's just smaller than I was expecting, and this is my fault - I should have checked the measurements, and then I would have ordered the 700ml one. Oh well. I use this for nuts and an airtight seal is important, which this product delivers.

    Used to replace a Nalgene container to rehydrate food

    We are using this instead of a Nalgene container to rehydrate food in, by adding boiling water at the start of the day. We then need to add cold water to cool it down and pack, but on the whole it has done what we needed with a slight weight penalty. The seal is good, no leaks. Pretty pleased with it.

    reliable, unbreakable container

    be careful not to loose the rubber ring in the lid as it falls out and I find using a wooden spoon is best if eating out of it as metal spoon on metal container grates a little especially near work colleagues! good solid reliable long lasting product

    Elephant in the caravan

    We have a few of these fabulous screw top boxes in our caravan and they are ‘just the job’ for keeping coffee and sugar dry and fresh. They are strong without being too heavy and bear a bit of jostling in the cupboards when we’re on the road. Excellent

    Love these but found one of the 3 I ordered impossible to open.
    Other 2 were fine. So good to avoid plastic.
    Think I prefer the push shut containers although they might be less secure.
